After scraping the sides of my Jeep on Mary Ellen Gulch, I can fully appreciate the snorkel being inset like it is. One good tree branch on those other ones could tear em off.

Love the sketches!

my biggest concern with a snorkel is cutting up my jeep to fit it.
its a bonus if it doesn't get in the way of windshield mounted lights too.

Cant wait to see what it looks like!

I just spent 2 hours reading all 99 pages, and I'm knowing I'll be getting one for the modular design and low mount.

Thanks guys for all the hard work going into this.

RR,

This is my second post on this 99 pages thread.
I've taken part in products' developments, and have been following this blessed approach of manufacturer-client exchange with interest beyond the product itself.

Two points:

1. If you haven't already, you may want to consider a few backwards-slanted ribs, inside the low intake. This may reduce or even eliminate water from entering the intake.
Such ribs are quite possible to inject as an integral part of the mold, and would also considerably strengthen the intake.

2. Obstructing the view through the windshield – even to a small degree – is bad... Still, the location of the tall snorkel is an understandable compromise.
However, the tall ram can still be damaged by a branch.
A simple & cheep optional part can protect the ram:

A tube, forming a triangular shape, connected to your light bar at 3 points, would slide branches away from the ram.

Side view:

From the top right corner, a third pipe may go in front of the top of the ram, and back to the horizontal tube of the light bar. Needless to say that a smaller diameter than that of the light bar pipes can be used.

The sketch was supposed to be triangular...
