Default '12 Soft top window question

Are the windows supposed to tuck into the plastic pillars next to the backseat headrests or is the little 90 degree lip in the window supposed to just get held shut by the closing doors? Make sense?

Tucked in, they should hold themselves in place once the zipper is done up and the bottom is snapped in.

I usually zip up about 4-6 inches of the zipper,

Tuck in the side into the door frame,

clip in the bottom, then finish zipping up the zipper.

you dont say if youre a 2 door or Unlimited 4 door....

ON MY 2 Door - mine tuck in to the plastic surround via a plastic lip.
I've got my windows out (finishing speaker installs or id snap a pic for you.

there is a channel on the B pillar (plastic surround) the FRONT VERTICAL edge folds into this channel (and the door seal closes against it.

His profile says 4door, but I am pretty sure the 4door and 2 doors are the same in the way the rear windows attach.

Thanks for the info. Finally got it. New jeep. Took a lot of pulling to get that window tucked in. But... no more flapping.

There was another thread with the same question. I will admit i wasn't sure at first either. I think jeep needs to revise the instructions.

They tuck around the corner tightly. I wasn't sure the first time I tried to put my windows back In either.

They tuck, I find it easiest to zip the window 3-4 inches, tuck the window in, then get the bottom plastic piece tucked in, an then zip and Velcro the rest.
