Default 2009 JK using oil????

I have an issue with my JK using oil? Is it possible?
It is NOT burning it, my exhaust smells normal
It is NOT leaking/dripping from engine
It is NOT in my radiator fluid
and it is NOT making any noises even tho it ran almost 4 qts low.. The idiot lit never came on. I thought my newer JEEP would be good. Since my boyfriend put the oil in to top it off is used about a qt in a week....

Try using 10w 40 and run 89 octane gas. There's a thread on here about a guy doing this and his jk doesn't burn oil anymore

I already run the 89 octane. Hmmmm Jeff used 5/30 oil last change. It didn't seem to use oil before. Will this issue just suddenly begin?

WTF does 89 octane have to do with this? That's a knock inhibitor. Knock comes from pre-detonation. Pre-detonation comes from the combustion of the contents of the cylinder igniting while the piston is traveling upwards. She could run racing fuel with 110% octane and its not going to change a thing.

She's either burning from bad rings, bad head gasket, or pcv. Uggh....

What he said was change your Pcv and put a heavier weight oil in. Try 10-30 and see if it gets better. If your still under warranty I would take it to the dealer and get an oil consumption test done. For any other answers use the search button as this topic has be beaten, buried, dug up, beaten, had sex with, left at the alter then murdered over and over again. Remember it's always fixable, it'll just take money.

Bummer. Start with changing the PCV, as mentioned, consider a heavier oil (the gas isn't the cause; the engine is tuned for 87).

Don't wait for the idiot light, it only measures pressure and if it comes on... uh oh!

Sudden onset makes me think PCV.
