2012 JKU Rattle Part 2
Well I officially hunted for a source that a annoying rattle could come from.
After I tried ideas and fixes that worked for other members my noise kept coming back.
But it would always go away when the hood was opened.
So I went hunting deep.
And here is what I found and it was so obvious right in front of me

Good for you! Noises drive me crazy. I'm new here and already I've started a noise thread about a whistling noise from the windshield header with the top folded back.
Personally, I get kind of crazy with a new car with a noise. Every time I drive the car I focus on the noise and it completely ruins any enjoyment I should get from a new car. I sold a Dodge Challenger when I couldn't get a sunroof rattle fixed.
Actually my new Wrangler is pretty good about rattles. Better than my Chevy Cruze for sure.
Sure wish I could get rid of my whistle, though. I have an appointment for the dealer to look at it and I told him I'd give him a $50 tip if he can fix it.
I'd pay an extra $2,000 if I knew a new car would be 100% free of rattles, squeaks, clicks and other irritatiing sounds. The last 2 Jeeps I had were almost perfect in this respect.

Ha! I have a 2010 and it had the same loose weather stripping in the exact same spot! It didn't make any noise, and I just pushed it back on. It hasn't come loose since (as far as I know), but this seems like a possible assembly problem never fixed by Jeep? Minor, but still...

That's crazy yll also have loose of not mounted stripping
It's weird because it has an inner plastic molding which I'm guessing was making with the body panel
So far this was the trick quiet as a mouse
