2012 Still ticking what to do next???
I saw a billet silver in person and they're awesome! I'd get that or commando. And I'd go without the 17's since I swapped them out a week later. And no hardtop. Gosh now I'm hoping they'll buy mine back!
I'm thinking 13 JKU Rubicon, billet color, auto, remote start, 4.10 gears, black hard top, auto AC, side air bags, max tow, connectivity group... this all comes out to about $1,000 more than my 2012 manual - and my 2012 has leather heated seats... so upgrading to the auto with remote start and downgrading to cloth unheated seats puts me at an extra $1,000 plus taxes out of pocket from 2012 -> 2013 year model price increase. I'm also going to be paying ~$2,500 out of pocket for the miles I put on my Jeep... so I'm guessing just under $4,000 (for the price difference, mileage, and taxes/docs) out of pocket will get me into the new 2013 and out of the headaches I've had with the 2012.
there....problem solved. they will fix it then because they had it apart so many times.! ha ha..
there is always ways around problems.....next item of the day would be park out in front of said dealer and put up a big sign stating your displeasure...squeaky wheels get the grease buddy....
just loosen up a couple of bolts, drive it till it croaks then bring it in.....

Sorry that this all seems confusing... but I haven't left any part of the story off. Chrysler is not agreeing that my engine and trans are having any problems... I'm pretty positive the reason they're offering me a buyback or replacement is because I've been so patient with them throughout the process (has been going on for months) and they sincerely want this to end well. The Chrysler rep that I have been working with has been my advocate throughout this process while the dealer's service manager and local area tech advisor (Jack) have been telling me I'm wrong, I'm making things up, I'm imaging things, there is nothing wrong, etc. The rep knows this isn't right, that's why she's fought for me. She told me that she's been at Chrysler for 29 years (will be there for 30 years in a month or two) and says this isn't how things usually work out (in regards to the dealer and Jack being assholes to me). I honestly think had I covered up my tattoos and piercings, this would have gone a lot differently at the dealer (at least I wouldn't have been assumed some sort of felon or someone with bad credit history by Jack). Maybe it would have garnered me some more credibility to wear a long sleeve button up shirt and some slacks, I don't know.

I've had my Jeep in the shop countless times (over more things than these 2, but these are the main ones) and i'd say 90% of the time I've gotten my Jeep back with *more* problems than it had to begin with. A good example - I had my entire e-brake assembly replaced a few weeks ago due to binding. They replaced it with a completely new assembly, lever included. I picked my Jeep up only to realize it was covered in some sort of tar/oil, it had a few extra hundred miles on it (they were trying to figure out a light flickering problem), and I realized they either left my USB unplugged when they pulled the console or they accidentally sliced some cables or something... so I returned to get them to plug it back in or fix it and clean the oil/tar/crap off of it. They managed to spend 3.5 hours on what they told me would be 1.5 hours to clean the Jeep and fix the USB (I was waiting in the waiting room, had to work that day)... then when they told me it was ready it was still covered in this oil/tar substance, so they sent it back to get cleaned again. *Finally* they got it clean and I took off from the dealer, USB working. About 2 minutes into leaving the lot, I looked down and noticed the brand new e-brake assembly had major 'impressions' in it (I guess from someone leaning tools or sharp objects on it), the little area the 4x4 stick is in was apparently gouged by some sort of tool(I guess from prying it to remove the console?) and there was a knick on the console near the cup holders. I immediately turned around, had them take pictures of it... but they still havent' called me back to fix it (it's been about a week now). <--- This is the kind of shit I've been dealing with week after week on top of the main area tech Jack telling me to eff off. I'm not making any of this up.
It's crap like that - has been going on for months now. The Chrysler rep I'm working with got approval to do a buyback or replacement, whichever I preferred, due to the shit they've put me through. I will have to cover the mileage and year model price increase (about $3-$4k total) as "what I'm bringing to the table" in their words. They are adamant about telling me that the Jeep doesn't have engine and trans problems, although the mechanics I talk to and my sales guy all confirm that it just "doesn't sound right, but there is nothing we can do because what Jack says goes." Chrysler is just trying to make me happy at this point... and I really feel it's mostly about how I've handled myself this entire time. I haven't yelled. I've went along with the game they are playing. I let them practically call me a felon to my face (when they were getting me a rental car) without so much as raising my voice. I did nothing wrong to them... but my rep knew I was being wronged every time I took my Jeep in. I was also adamant that I didn't want to take my Jeep to another dealer because I had purchased 2 brand new JKU's from this one and all the other dealers in the area sucks just as bad... so I'd rather have the dealer that should owe me some help working on my Jeep. My Chrysler rep agreed that I shouldn't have to take my Jeep somewhere else to get appropriate service - and taking my Jeep to the dealer I've purchased from several times before was the right thing to do.
It would take me a few hours to tally up all the crap I've gone through with this Jeep. Jack still says my Jeep doesn't have engine or trans problems - is actually pretty rude about it. Chrysler is offering me a buy back or replacement... and they haven't yet tried to replace my heads or truly fix the rattling in my stick shift. I'm not hiding or leaving anything out of the story, sorry if it seems that way.
