I am getting 14mpg on my stock JKU 2013, it was 17mpg summer time. I don't know how to explain this other than different gasoline for winter and more time taken on engine warm up, also traffic is much worse in my area with all this snow storms every 2-3 days, driving 4hi on snow/ice also takes gas as crazy. Not sure about Laredo weather, but in NJ we are waiting for another snow storm arriving next 2 days.

A coworker of mine has a 2012 jkur that's getting 13 this winter. He normally gets about 15. This winter is a killer my 2012 JKU sport dropped from 17 to 15.

I have a 2014 4 door with auto and 4.10's and am running 34" tires. I am getting slightly less mpg then I did when it had the stock tires but it looks better. Winter blend fuel is a killer on mpg. I however still am getting 15-16mpg around town and back and forth to work. On the highway at steady 65-70mph I get better. Don't make the mistake and get too small of tires. Look at 34 or 35's anyway.

My 2014 isn't running great on mpg either. My 2012 was getting 19mpg with 3.21 but my new one is getting 16.1 with 3.73. I was expecting a little drop but not this much.

My 2012 JKU Auto 3.73 with 33's is ranging anywhere between 10mpg and 14mpg city. Summertime I get 14-16mpg city. Yeah, winter gas sucks.

Bigger tires will take more gas, heavier tires need more engine power to rotate.
