Is this the biggest tire recommended for 3:73.

WIll be fine on a 2012+. I run 33s with 3.21 gears and have no complaints. I've seen plenty of people even run 35s on 3.73s. Its all going to depend on what feels good to you.

I'm running 33's with 3.73 gears on my '08 automatic JKU. It struggled a bit at highway speeds, constantly shifting. Ended up getting a Superchips Flashpaq (bought it used for about $150) and love it. Considering going to 35's on the next set with this setup. As others have said though, really depends on your preference and terrain.

I'm almost the same. I really feel the super chips made it drive able. I use the 87 tune. I feel as if it shifts better now. Still not perfect but more manageable. Going up steep hills it sometimes pins it's self at 5

I wouldn't go bigger, I run 305/70/16's ( 32.25in) with 3.73 gears Man. In 6th gear I'm turning 2100 rpm @ 70 mph.

I have 35s on my jku with 3.21s. I think it drives fine. I've drove a lot of jeeps and other regeared vehicles and I have no complaints with mine now. I see it as one of the last mods I do as I'm sure it would help.... But for now, I'm satisfied... That pentastar makes a difference!!

"Drives fine" where? Under what conditions? With four passengers and luggage? How is it on long uphill 7% grades in the Rockies? How is it wheeling above 10,000 ft? I hear a lot of "35's are fine with 3.21s" but then there is never any real explanation about just "where" and under what conditions "fine" is.

I ran 37's on 3.42's with a procal and it was fine. 33's with 3.73's ain't even a worry.

I live in the Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee. There aren't many flat roads, but not 10,000 ft!! I drove on the interstate today to Knoxville (about 35 miles) and set the cruise on 70 and it never downshifted. That was with 4 grown men and my 5 year old son in there. I haven't had it 4wheeling yet, but am going next weekend. It's all going to be preference. I have had geared jeeps and 4runners. They were absolute dogs before the gears and came to life afterwards. This motor has more juice than any of those... That sure helps!! I'm not saying that mine may not get gears down the road.... All I'm saying is that in my experience, I'm not in a frantic rush to regear my jeep.
