adding power door locks (oem latches, oem wiring, viper 5701 alarm with remote start)
#52
Finished mine up a few weeks ago. Lot of work but overall, it wasn't that bad. Feel free to ask if you have questions... It's very well worth it. I still smile every time I hit that button and don't have to run around to every stinking door.

Did you install an OEM door lock switch in the door where it would normally go? I am hoping that the switch just plugs into a harness, got any suggestions?

Are the factory harnesses needed to run the latches to an aftermarket alarm or does the latch have wires to splice into? All the photos I see do not show how they wire up...
Thanks

I never did find the correct molex connector and I had no interest in buying the body harness. I wound up cutting the connectors off the new door harnesses I bought and soldering the old ones back on to mate up with the existing body harness. (You do need the door harness to connect to the locks.) For the locks, I just used some blade type quick disconnects and ran 2 conductor wire from each body side molex location to the relay pack in the front (see below) and tied that into my remote start.
As for connection to an alarm, remote start or keyless module, most of those are a negative or positive pulse output. The OEM locks are reverse polarity so you have to build a relay pack to connect them. It's actually a lot easier than it sounds:

So I check this thread regularly and got all happy as I found drivers front for $25..... and as I was hoping for the rest to be reasonably priced... no dice.... I think I will be slowly assembling the parts as I find them cheap
