Alright i cant find this oil change
Why so often? Just because, or do you have any issues such as burning oil? Generally speaking, oils can easy last much longer due to more modern engines and advances in oils. I do mine at 5k and some of my engineer friends say I'm stupid and should go to 8k which is what the manual allows for the 2012.
General consensus is there is no consensus. I think my change oil light has only come on three times in 36,000 miles on my 2012. The very first time was somewhere between 7-8k. For me, when I change my oil has nothing to do with that message. Every 5k, give or take a few hundred miles. Works for me and many others on here. I would probably be fine going 7 or 8k, but I am comfortable with 5k.

I run synthetic and change every 3k. Most car manufacturers have it in print that if you run in any of the following conditions, to change more frequently than recommended. Those indications are "stop & go driving, towing, driving in an area with high heat, humidity, frequent trips, cold starts, driving in cold weather, heavy traffic, off road use, water fording, etc." Just about everyone in the country meets at least two to three of these. As for the life of synthetic, it's not the oil breaking down that is the problem, it's the impurities that build up in the oil. Acidity, carbon deposits, etc.
