No knocking that I noticed but when it was idling it kept acting like it was misfiring or getting ready to stall

 

I'm pretty sure it was Castrol

 

I didn't ask because the mechanic who was working on wasn't there yet , I'll find out when I go to pick it up

A not so proud member of the quart/1,000 mile club here. At 76,000 miles, I'm just hoping that Mobil 1 can perform miracles because I'm seeing a lot of threads about issues with the 07/08 engines. I just changed my oil this weekend and I will be watching it very closely from here on out.

 

Look at your engine number (see post #47) and post where the engine was made.

 

Wow....that is horrendous! I have seen plenty of carbon buildup on pistons before, but nothing that bad. I hope they do right by getting it fixed properly. Best of luck, keep us informed, and please........take as many pics as you can

 

Also look into seafoam treatment see what you think

Yes but would Chrysler void the warranty for using 5W30?????

 

Picked up the Jeep yesterday everything seems to be running ok. I didn't get a chance to talk to the mechanic who worked on the Jeep. I asked the service manager If the rings were installed wrong or what would make them do that and he never really gave me a straight answer as to why this happened. He did tell me that the rings that are in it now are different from the ones originally installed. I asked if should be worried about this happening again and he said no... we'll see. I'll probably be getting a call from Chrysler in a few days, I'll keep everybody posted.
