actually it looks like the dealer you took it to is trying to charge DC way to much for the warrenty work performed. I bet on the bill they send to DC is has parts/labor that werent used. Warrenty fraud on the dealers part

Glad you got it fixed under warrenty, but if they are doing the above then its a start to a bigger issue. Land Rover dealerships started doing this when ford took over ownership--cust service went to hell.

hope this isnt a start to the steep slide to cust service related hell---oh wait....from all the dealer complaints on this board this is starting to happen

Total cost to fix it, $9,000. All covered under warranty.

They rebuild the engine. I asked why they didn't just replace it for the expense, and I was told that they could not get a hold of a new engine because of the existing backlog in engine production. They had it just over 2 weeks.

That's an expensive afternoon. Did your management just fire you or did they take out a contract on your life?

With the rising prices of diesel/gas why don't you buy a H1..

I hate to hear that.... a brand new jeep with a rebuilt motor. I'd be beyond pissed off.

Wow. They gonna comp you for the fact that's it's rebuilt if you ever trade it?

I'd be very surprised if resale is ever the same.

At least you're back on the road. Cheers.
