My 2010 Jeep Wrangler Sahara, 2 door, has issues down shifting. It shifts roughly coming into the lower gears. You can feel and hear it down shift. Trans serviced at 6000 miles, new filter, fluid, solenoids serviced, etc. Dealer tells me my after market exhaust, TBS, and CAI cause the problem!!! Too lazy to take it for second opinion and Jeep treats it like a hang nail. 21 year old young lady calls from Detroit and tells me what is wrong. Dealer says drive another new one, oh we do not have any and will not be getting any in. Love my Jeep, just cannot wait till 2012 for the new trans to become a reality. Shame on me for buying a four speed auto, such a lazy slug. Also on the open road it hangs in gear and does not shift when it reaches speed/RPM, have to take my foot off the gas altogether. Trans re flashed also.
15,700 miles, started shifting abnormally in second gear occasionally. Checked fluid level and it is ok, but fluid is dark in color (blackish red) and smells burnt. Hot oil warning has never came on. Going to the dealer on Tuesday. My motor is also using a quart of oil every 1600 miles, so i am just not very happy.
My 2007 transmission completely imploded at 87k miles. Started hearing noises and before I could get it to the dealer it ate up every gear in the case. The tires literally locked up while I was driving. The only way to get it off the road was to put the gear box in N and push it to the side of the road. It was an early 07 so I only had a 36k warranty on the drivetrain. $3k later I had it rebuilt not by the dealer. The transmission guy said that Jeeps were bad about not running well on dirty fluid so he recommended changing the filter on the Tranny every 50k. Not a fun thing. Could have used that cash on mods!
