Default Automatic Trans Cooler

A little curious here. I pulled my grill off today to do the mesh grill mod. I noticed a small cooler in front of my radiator that looks like a transmission cooler. My JK is an 07, has an auto trans and I have not added a trans cooler to it. I am also the original owner. Did the 07 JKs come with an auto trans cooler, or could they have been ordered with one installed from the factory. Someone special ordered my JK X with the Dana 44 rear axle, 4:10 gears and electronic disco.

How big is it?
The A/C condenser covers the radiator. The stock trans cooler is the bottom portion of it.

It's just a little smaller than the radiator.

A/C condenser then. There will be two transmission cooler lines connected to it on the lower driver's side corner.

All automatic JKs have this. It's an inadequate cooler. It's a good idea to add an aux cooler.

Yes both of the lines coming off of it say transmission. So what you are saying is that it is a trans cooler, but an inadequate one.

It is inadequate in a lot of situations. Overheating can be avoided if you have a transmission sump temp gauge.
Adding an aux cooler will almost eliminate the need to be so careful.

Thanks for the info Ronjenx. Didn't realize all autos came with one.
