Unless you have the tow package, the four door, or the rubi, it comes with a Dana 35, being that you have the X, i would assume you have the Dana 35. If you look under your rear end, and see that the axle cover is oval shaped, then you do indeed have the dana 35 rear axle. I hope that helps.

I'm not trying to pick any fights, or tell you that you're wrong, but the 2 dr JK X has the Dana 35 in the rear unless you got the tow package or specifically ordered the dana 44 somehow. Stock, the X 2dr comes with the Dana 35 in the rear, but you are right about the front, as the X JK 2 dr or 4 dr or tow package or not has the dana 30 in the front

OK. even though the web is saying that it is with the Next Generation D35, unless with towing on the X, i decided to do a little homework. Well, actually, curiosity drove to snoop around.
I have tow hooks, but, not the "tow package" which they say will upgrade you to the D44, but, decided to call the dealer after not finding info online anywhere. I found out that i do indeed have a Next Generation Dana 44 "heavy duty".
If you are unsure, you can call the parts department of your local dealer and give them the last 9-digits of your VIN, and they will tell you.
Either way, I have an X with the S package, 2-dr, 6-spd with the D30 front and D44 rear.
