Exclamation Is this bad?

Hi all,
I'm new to the Jeep scene (coming from a Subaru) and I was crawling around under my jeep tonight (my wife thinks I'm crazy) and noticed this.....

I apologize for the size.

Is this bad? Also is this the transfer case I'm looking at?

Looking at the crossmember It appears like it hasn't been dripping if ever....

Here's the rest of the pics if you want to check them out.

So I did a search and this appears to be the closest issue to mine.

https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...=transfer+case

But unfortunately that one doesn't have pics so I'm not sure if this is an issue or just a common occurance that I shouldn't worry about. Shifting has been ok, granted this fly by wire is a bit funky but I haven't had anything really stick out as odd.

So I guess I'm trying to figure out if this is normal?

Ah crud,

So that's not normal then huh?

I'm wondering also how crazy do I have to get cleaning it. I mean obviously this isn't anything I've done. But obviously the Jeep has seen mud, heck I'm up here in the North East so it's hard not to. Guess I'll just go through it and clean up a bit and bring her in.

But this is why I'm so hesitant to put any mods or add-ons to this jeep. My fear is I put on a skid plate and the dealership is like "Bingo! There's your problem...yup damn skid plate will do it every time!"

Just have them check it out. It may just be the tranny gasket.

the dealer cant deny your warranty claim because of a modification unless they can prove ur mod caused the problem, its a law
