I picked up my JK with this already done by the dealer. It only took three trips back to get it repaired! I am rellay looking forward to see how hard it is to get it flashed for the radio and gauge issues!

I saw someone mention in another forum that they put wider tires on and found out by accident that fixes the problem. Their door swung open and the door bumped into the tire before the mirror hit the cowel.

I feel really dumb. I removed the doors off my JK and thought I was being really careful. I guess I never realized the front driver's door swung open too far when I was trying to remove the door. A week later after I had the doors back on, I noticed in my work's parking lot the ding on the cowel. I was PISSED, because I felt someone else had done that to my Jeep in the parking lot at work.

A month later I'm reading posts in this forum where everyone was talking about how to fix their cowel dimples. I then saw a pic that someone posted and realized...."Hey, that dent looks exactly like mine."

Yeah...this guys dent looks EXACTLY like mine.

I'm not as pissed now. I feel much better knowing I was the jerk that probably caused the damage, instead of some other jerk in a parking lot.

I have the usual passenger cowl ding. Rugged ridge makes a black plastic cowl cover that goes on using 3M strips. Warrior Products has some rivet in steel or aluminum cowl guards that make it 'ding' proof,
