We wont even TOUCH on the fact that this info isnt in the 2007 owners manual.

I wonder if Redneck and Dustoff68 from another forum are one in the same?

Didn't think it was that forceful, but perceptions are what perceptions are. I just thought (and still do) the question was being misinterpreted. Nothing more. Sorry if I came off too strong.

Nah. I'm really a jerk.

Actually, that's good advice! I will certainly try to remember that.

PS - I hope everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) takes all of the posts for what they are - opinions and occasional good-natured ribbing. This is the collective brain-power of experience, knowledge, and often guessing. With luck they all converge on useful information!

Re read this post, tried it very carefully, didn't work.
Tried the key removal/door open , didn't work.
Now, I readily admit that I would like to get the light to stop blinking. Then there is that annoying boing sound.
It is so bad that I risk ridicule by my peers along with reduced self esteem as a result of my failure.
I need suggestions, please
I tried it today....I will tell you exactly how I did it step by step and maybe I got lucky it worked on the first try....I was already in the jeep with it running...doors closed.
Turned off engine removed key.
Re-inserted key turned it to the position right before starting it.
Immediately after I put key in the ACC position (I think thats what it's called)
I floored it and let the pedal up 3x.
Turned key back and removed it. Pushed the lock button on the remote. Then unlocked started it up and Voila.

Hope this helps...good luck

Default Thanks

Thanks for making this thread. I have read my manual, and the reset is not in my 07 manual. It is now fixed and I can now drive in peace.

It also may be a surprise to know, but sometimes when someone buys a used vehicle, the manuals aren't always there. (Check ebay to see how many owner's manuals are for sale.)

Sounds dumb, but it's like taking the ice trays from the freezer of your rented apartment, they belong to the freezer/apartment complex, why would you want them? All refridgerators come with ice trays... but working in apartment maintenance in the past I can tell you people take the ice trays when they move out. Why? Who knows. But it happens.

So to quickly say "read your manual" doesn't always help.

Here's some help...

http://www.jeep.com/en/owners/manuals/index.html

I keep the .pdf handy and don't actually need to bust out the actual manual.

I came across this thread... hahaha

If it's true, that would solve the OP's problem.

The company will provide you with a manual for a used vehicle. They are also available for download.
