Change oil indicator light.
I did attempt to give some info on a gearing question in another thread but was advised quite forcefully by AZ Jeeper that I didn't understand the question and I MOST certainly did not analyze the situation mathematically. I will be the FIRST to admit that I'm NOT an algebra whiz, but I have sharpened a few pencils. Always remember- when giving PROFESSIONAL advice to noob's simplification is best for everyone involved. It makes the advice much easier for unexperienced guys to understand.
Nah. I'm really a jerk.

PS - I hope everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) takes all of the posts for what they are - opinions and occasional good-natured ribbing. This is the collective brain-power of experience, knowledge, and often guessing. With luck they all converge on useful information!
Well, since I ain't the shineyest apple in the bushel, I was reluctant to reply to this thread.
I read the book, tried it, didn't work.
Reread the book, tried it, didn't work.
Read this post, tried it, didn't work.
Re read this post, tried it very carefully, didn't work.
Tried the key removal/door open , didn't work.
Now, I readily admit that I would like to get the light to stop blinking. Then there is that annoying boing sound.
It is so bad that I risk ridicule by my peers along with reduced self esteem as a result of my failure.
I need suggestions, please

Turned off engine removed key.
Re-inserted key turned it to the position right before starting it.
Immediately after I put key in the ACC position (I think thats what it's called)
I floored it and let the pedal up 3x.
Turned key back and removed it. Pushed the lock button on the remote. Then unlocked started it up and Voila.
Hope this helps...good luck
It also may be a surprise to know, but sometimes when someone buys a used vehicle, the manuals aren't always there. (Check ebay to see how many owner's manuals are for sale.)
Sounds dumb, but it's like taking the ice trays from the freezer of your rented apartment, they belong to the freezer/apartment complex, why would you want them? All refridgerators come with ice trays... but working in apartment maintenance in the past I can tell you people take the ice trays when they move out. Why? Who knows. But it happens.
So to quickly say "read your manual" doesn't always help.
Here's some help...

I keep the .pdf handy and don't actually need to bust out the actual manual.

If it's true, that would solve the OP's problem.

The company will provide you with a manual for a used vehicle. They are also available for download.
