Default Check Engine light on with 3,500 miles???

I've had my Wrangler for about a week and a half. It's a 2013 Unlimited with a 4" lift, and 35" Mickey Thompsons. It has 3,500 miles, bought it used.

I just took it out to the farm and did a little driving on the land, nothing serious, through some tall grass and over a few rocks. Once I got back my wife took it out to run to the store and fill it with gas and now the ESC light and the check engine light are on.

Any ideas before I go to the dealership tomorrow?

Check that your gas cap is on properly,, turn it till it clicks.
Or the steering could be out of alignment from the lift..

Go Topless :-)

On my 2012, the massage for the gas cap actually says "gas cap"

So I checked the gas cap, on tight. I turned ignition on and off until I saw the dashes, then it just said "done". Both lights still on.

An alignment. Seen on your previous thread you had play in steering. And took it off road should most likely be steering alignment

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I need an alignment too.

My 2013 just had the light come on. Dealer had a flash update for the evap canister and that took care of it.

Scanners are reasonably priced, easy to use ,and the codes can be looked up on the internet. It gives you an edge before you run to the mercy of those who work on commission. Ask Santa for one this year, you will not regret it.
