Default "chirp" while shifting

I have a little chirping noise when I shift. It's most noticeable when shifting in the lower gears, but I believe it happens in all. (When I go faster, I'm assuming it's drowned out by road noise) I hear the chirp when disengaging the clutch and pressing on the gas pedal. Almost sounds like something is loose or one of the clutch bearings is going out.
FYI: I have aprx 5K miles on my rig.

I'm having my lift installed on Thursday, so I dropped her at the service dept today. Don't want to give them any reason to "void my warranty".

Anybody else w/ a similar issue?

I'll be sure to report back when/if they fix the issue.

This post (and others) discuss the problem you are seeing. I just finally got mine
fixed yesterday. See post number 37 for details on what they did to fix mine.

THANK YOU

I called my service guy. He updated my ppw so the tech has some idea of what to look for.

Question, if you coast in say 3rd gear and then punch it, do you get the squeek? Because I do, this leads me to believe it is not a clutch issue....but correct me if i"m wrong somone...just don't want to lead people to think this is the way to solve this notorious "basketball shoe on gym floor squeek"

I still think its a mount somewhere because it appears to be coming from rear left, nowhere near the clutch....

Yup. It happens in 2nd or 3rd. If the clutch plate is glazed, it could chirp if suddenly placed under load.

Understanable but still doesn't explain why its coming from the rear of the vehicle....

Default May be slightly different noises....

Mine did indeed chirp if I punched it from a coast, that is also now gone.

Interesting point, one of you mentioned the noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. For me that was NOT the case, it seemed to originate directly from the shift boot area, or the transmission itself. So in this particular case, it seems that we may have a slightly different symptom.

Just got off the phone w/ my service advisor. Stated they ruled out the clutch assy. They believe it's in the suspension, but have not isolated the noise. (sound familiar? )

Waiting for the foreman to testdrive w/ the tech....
