I still think its a mount somewhere because it appears to be coming from rear left, nowhere near the clutch....

Mine does the squeak anytime I gas it suddenly in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gear. I for one cannot tell where the noise is coming from other than underneath...this one sure needs a cure, it's driving me batty...:

Update from my service writer...

Tech tightened all suspension & steering components, and the "chirp" subsided but did not go away. Next, they pulled off the sway bar, test drove and the "chirp" was fully gone. They are going to reinstall & check all connection points.

I should have her back tonight. I'll report on the status.

If it's not gone, I'm not too worried. I'm installing the 2.5 TF lift tomorrow. I'm sure the dealership will consider my suspension warranty voided at that time.

If it is the sway bar, maybe some quick disconnects will help...

Ditto. I would like to hear what the service techs say about sway bar causing the chirp. We await your news...

Also, to elminate the clutch possibility, who here has had the chirp on their "auto"....That way we'll know if it only exists on the 6sp...

my 2 pesos,

my chirp is only in the a.m., when jeep is "cold". When it is warmed up, it goes away/quiets down.

i also hear a clicking/rattle behind the glove box near the firewall. At least that is where it appears to be coming from. any ideas?

Default update

Well, the service dept said they eliminated the chirp when they took off the front and rear sway bars. They lubed and tightened the crap of of them when they were reinstalled and the sound was gone. I drove it the night I got my JK back and the AM on the way to get my lift installed. Sound was gone.
Now that the lift was installed, it's back.

The dealer ordered me new sway bar bushings. When they're on I'll update once again.

PS - I'll take the lift w/ a little chirp any day.

Well the saga mystery continues.

Today I took off both front and rear sway bars to go offroading and the chirp is still there, it's not the sway bars....

I have the chirp also. I noticed it right away after the AEM intake install. I plan to remove it and install the stock airfilter to see if it goes away. If not, I will take it in to the dealer.
