Default Clicking in the steering wheel

lately i've noticed a "clicking" feel in my steering wheel.
only happens at slow to medium speeds..
just a subtle clicking feel..not full blown death rattle.
steering doesn't drift
tires are wearing evenly--nothing looks out of alignment.

i'm running 285/75/16 tires & teraflex quick discos but otherwise a stock suspension..

thoughts?
thanks
Steve

does it happen when you are going around an abrupt turn or when you go over a bump. i had the TF quick discos on mine too and it was just the pins on the front that were doing all the clicking. I would also depending on how long ago you put them on would check to make sure the studs that hold the discos on are nice and tight i lost a stud on one side and the clicking noise was the nut coming loose before i lost it on a dirt trail.

hope this helps some.

I finally had to put small lock washers on them in the front. I kept losing bolts. it was so annoying if i went around a turn or something i would hear a loud metal to metal click , that's when i would know to tighten them. now i have had no problem,s since

have you tried sitting still with the Jeep at idle and having someone turn the wheel left to right real fast while you look and see if anything is loose. that's what i had to do to find out it was my swaybar discos making the noise

I believe if it is like mine, it feels like the steering is loose with a little "give". Mine does it after I drive it awhile in warmer weather. Almost feel like a catch. I remember there was a detailed post a while ago on some easy fix from this wonderful group. It was something with the steering column. I have not done it yet as it doesn't bug me enough but maybe one of the oldbe's can direct you. When am I not a newbe anymore?
