In the warn weather or even in the cold weather after a while of driving (allowing the bay to heat up) my clunk comes. This is typical of the intermediate shaft. When it's very warm it can get pretty bad, I will also feel it in the brake and gas pedal sometimes. Like a slight knock in the pedal at the same time as the knock in the steering wheel

I've read this is very common among people having the steering clunk, but seeing as how my knowledge of the front end is lacking, can someone explain to me how the pedals can be affected too?

Also, what are symptoms of worn balljoints as opposed to the intermediate shaft problem?

The same subassembly that the pedals pivot on is also used to support the steering column where it goes through the firewall. I knock on the column or shaft will be felt through the pedals.

I winder if there was some kind of material like a dynamat or something that you could cover the sub assembly with that would stop this?

You've tried spraying/pumping grease in the rubber boot on the steering shaft & you still have the steering clunk?

Yeah because now it's the box. When it's not that it's always something in the suspension. I just want to deaden the feel now.

I've had my intermediate shaft replaced at about 5000 miles. Went away for about 5000 more miles. Now its back again...

Oh well. Only does it when its warm or cold...
