The steering intermittent shaft goes right passed the manifold. After driving for long periods of time you will notice the knocking increase due the heat. After a long trip I went to the dealer and had them drive it while it was still hot. Now I have a new steering intermittent shaft: D

I voted I have it but it's gone now. That's true as long as the nylon sleeve stays up tight against the fire wall. Have to pound it back about once a year.

Wow, looks like more than half of respondents have dealt with this. Was gonna have the dealership check it out next time I'm in there.

This must be my problem. The knocking seems to be coming neer the pedals. This would make sense. Do you access this from the engine side of the fire wall?

I also have a light vibration at 50-65 mph. I was thinking this was related to the knocking in the suspension, but I can not see how this nylon sleeve could prevent or cause the vibration. Maybe they are not related.

They are probably not directly related howver, the more vibration the more you will notice the knocking.
