Default diff oil question

So I changed the oil in my diffs, but didn't get a good seal on the rear diff. By not good I mean I check it and see it has a drip or so always coming from the bottom. (Not dripping or anything, but a droplet hanging from the middle of the diff).Still full when i check it but, I feel this is unacceptable, but no biggie it was my first time ever doing diffs, so eh. Anyway I have only driven to work a few times so maybe 50 miles? Roughly since I did them. Is it ok to just clean the cover really well, pull the drain plug and catch it in the oil bottles I used so i don't have to buy more amsoil?

If you just put new oil in i dont see any reason why you cant re-use it. I highly suggesting using a lubelocker instead of using RTV sealant next time, much easier to install and can be used several times

Just so you know the diff covers dont have to be removed to change the oil...only if you want to inspect the gear set. There is a drain plug on the bottom of the housing.

Yes I know. I had 4:10 gears installed and just went through the break in mileage on them and wanted to take apart to clean well and to inspect how they did.

+1 on re-using the same oil. Just did mine but didn't pull the cover. Still cant believe the dealer wanted $129.95 per axle to do this. Took me an hour and $40 of gear oil.
