Default Door will not open - Passenger side rear

Well, my daughter got out of the jeep very quickly and shut the door on the seat belt. Kind of a weird click sound as she did... Shut it on the seat belt... Was able to get the seat belt out easily with door closed (top is off), but now I cannot open the door.

Any ideas?

Seems to lock and unlock correctly, but it just won't open.

Please help!

Should still open from outside if child lock is on? This has me stumped for sure

Maybe try taking the hinge off and see if that helps

Maybe try taking the inner panel off and reach in and release it from inside if you can get to it? Just be careful taking the panel off as to not break the clips. Oil the rods up and see what happens?

Does the button push in but won't open the door? I had this happen on my front door..fixed under warranty. Apparently the retaining clip that holds the cable inside the door wasn't set properly at the factory. When I pushed the button on the outside to open I could hear something moving but no open...hope this helps.
