Maybe since all these things are leaking like mad they tried to solve that by adjusting the doors? Also have you noticed how easy you can pull the door rubbers off??

Thats a pretty harsh response to what in my estimation is a fair assesment of the situation. For example, if someone critisizes the top noise or the harsh ride etc (like CR just did in an article) then for sure they just don't get the "Jeep Thing".
...But this is 180 degrees different... things are not working as they are designed to work. And there are plenty examples of this on this site. These issues are certainly NOT "Jeep Things". They are "poor quality assurance in design and installation things" and Chrysler should be held to account.
The lemon laws are designed for situations like these and should be pursued. I had a Mercedes Benz SLK32 AMG (retractable hardtop) with a seal leak that the dealer made similiar excuses about and after 5 times I got them to buy it back. We are lucky to have these laws as they protect us as consumers

Default Jeep Doors Don't Close Properly

My 08 Jeep 2d Sahara does the same thing. The doors don't shut properly if you don't close hard enough. I noticed it when I was buying the Jeep as well...the dealer told me it was the way the body is designed and they couldn't work around it.

It seems like a problem only with the hardtops, and only if you haven't taken the hard top off since you bought it new. When I slightly roll down the windows the door shuts normal, without any effort, but when all windows are up (air tight seal)...the door does not shut unless you follow through as you are closing.

Jeepfiend,

Interestingly enough, you are from Pittsburgh as well.

Yes, this is only a problem with the hard top installed. It does not do this for me when I have the soft top installed in the summer months.

You know this thread was started almost a year ago, right?

I've just recently started to search this forum and thought I'd look if anyone has had this door issue. I found this thread, but no, I didn't realize it was almost a year ago since the posts. Just wanted to throw in my two cents on the topic.

What.
My door shuts properly with the hard top on. If its air pressure leave the window open a crack before shutting it. Or just use some initiative WHEN CLOSING IT. If its a body issue then lemon law the freaking thing! Thats retarded. Didn't know Chrysler sells Jeeps with body alignment problems!

Well then if my math is correct 4 of the 6 poster to this thread so far should be pursuing the Lemon-Law because our JK doors don't shut "right" I did not want to go there but is it a "Jeep Thing" Just wait til summer and take the doors and top of and problems solved.
Even though I am normally all about "it's a Jeep thing", on this one I am going to have to disagree. This is not the first Wrangler I have owned, but it is the first one I have owned where I had to shut the door pretty hard to close it. In fact, my last Wrangler (TJ), I had to be careful not to slam it, because they shut so easily. Although my doors are not like the OP, they JK doors are definitely harder to shut than earlier model Wranglers.

Default my experiance

i got the jeep with dual tops.... drivers door was hard to shut, many times had to slam it again to get it to close all the way.... but if I opened a window or if my wife had the passenger door open still it shuts fine, warm weather rolls around and i tossed the soft top on and never thought about it but the problem was not noticed again. then last weekend i put the hard top back on and its back,... i keep having to reopen and slam my door. so its an air thing... and when soft top is on it much puff out enough when door slams to act like a breather. follow my drift? how many of you guys with or without problem have hard verse soft tops?

edit:
ummmm yea,, i just reread the above posts ..... most of this has been said already... nevermind

Agreed 100% about the TJ! The Hubbs has a a TJ, and often makes "comments" about me slamming my door ( only the driver side is having a problem), the "comments" stopped after a snow storm came and dropped about three inches of snow inside the truck because the door was not shut (slammed) correctly, before the storm came.
