i went through a similar sequence to you - they replaced the control module first (because even though my dealer traced the trouble to the throttle body, DC insisted that it had to be the control module), then the throttle body, and then the throttle body wiring harness. my understanding (based on conversations with the head mechanic at my dealer) is that there was a whole batch of screwed-up harnesses. could it be possible that your dealer simply replaced one bad one with another?

before the new wiring harness, i wasn't able to go two consecutive days without the stupid light coming on. since then it hasn't lit up once.

it might just be a spot of good luck, but i'll take that.
After the last service visit when they replaced the wiring harness, it took about 500 miles for it to pop back up. Funny thing is the dealership had my car looked at by a regional rep and they told me all about the harness issues and that one of the metal or copper ends get messed up and causes the light to come on. Well they go on to tell me that Chrysler is overnighting a new and improved wiring harness and that NOBODY is allowed to touch the thing until it goes on my car. Yeah, that really worked. There is a chance that I simply got another bad harness but I'm sick of the whole thing. Hell, I got a free warranty out of it. I'll take it back eventually, but right now I just have ZERO confidence in anything Chrysler or Jeep does now.

Anybody else have this problem -

If I turn Jeep off then restart it runs rough - but then if I turn it off and restart it runs OK - Warning light is on either case -

Please let me know you experience with this -

Mine is in the shop right now having a wiring harness replaced for that very reason. Take it in!

Supposedly , there is a new TSB.

Just got my Jeep back from the shop. What they did was replace the Intake Harness (part# 4801605-AF desc- Wiring 8015002 E). According to the receipt, mine was shorted out.

There was no TSB on it. (yet)

So I have a two week old 4 door fully loaded and the ETC warning light came on for the first time over the weekend. Thing is, for me, it really affects the driving from steering to acceleration to breaking. Kinda freaked me out.

So now it seems to come on every time I am in slow traffic, coming to a stop light, idling in traffic, etc. It once came on while I was in my driveway connecting the iPod. Not sure if that triggered anything or was coincidental but it's information either way. For a two week old JK, I am taking back to dealer tomorrow and will let ya'll know what they do.

My 2007 commander had the light come on the day after I bought it and has been back to the dealer literally 14 times. Knock on wood, lucky #14 worked and there have been no other issues with the commander.

My ETC light last week started coming on a couple minutes into my morning ride to work. Its not on when I back out of the garage, but is on by the time I get to my first stop sign. Jeep's more than a year old, ~13K miles. If I stop, turn engine off and on, the light goes off and stays off. Doesn't come on in the afternoons?

Today, on stop and restart, it ran a little rough for the first time. But the light stayed off.

The manual says to stop and restart, and if the light goes off, all is OK. This is what happens for me, but I don't want to do that every day. Will monitor the Jeep and this thread.

This happened to me for the first time on my way home tonight. I was on the highway when the lightning bolt light came on. It stayed on, but nothing seemed different. I pulled over and turned the Jeep off as the manual stated. I turned it back on and the light was gone. I have an appointment for another weird noise it has been making when shifting, so I will have to let them know about this as well.

Sorry folks...I completely spaced on getting back to ya'll with the update. Here 'tis:
Fault codes thrown were P2173 and P0507. The culprit was a faulty PCV which was causing too much air to flow. Hope that helps.

Not for me. Someone smarter than me could speak to this, but it's my understanding when the codes are thrown, they stay in the computer so diagnostics can see what numbers come up.

Can anyone confirm or deny how the codes are stored if at all???

I got one the other day after listening to Sirius off the battery while hanging Christmas lights. When I started it up, it was a long crank time, then this light and the Check Engine came on. I turned it off and turned it back on, no red light but the check engine was on for 2 days. I ran the diagnostic to check for codes, but didn't get any.

I'm going to the dealer next week for scheduled maintenance. Will they see that this light came on before, even though it didn't throw codes? My '07 is at 31K... getting close to that 3yr/36K mark so I need to get as much replaced as I can under warranty.
