Default engine break-in

Hey guys
after 600km I finally noticed Chrysler said:

While cruising, brief full-throttle acceleration within the limits of local traffic laws contributes to a good break-in.

Am I too late to do that?

ill tell you how to make sure its broken in good , find yourself a steep hill or long grade , slow down to a crawl and hammer on it , slow back down and repeat several times . this puts a load on the engine and seats the rings . do whatever you want but it works and hasnt failed me ever , the one thing to avoid for sure is constant speed for long distance . rip onthat bitch !

Most people pay not attention to break-in and their engines do just fine.

Engines these days aren't like they were in the past. Big thing is to not sit at the same rpm for too long, but what's done is done, a lot of people don't correctly break in their engines and do just fine.

When I purchased mine I asked what the break in period was for the engine. They told me there was none. So I said you mean I can drive it like it was stolen? They said yes. I was told later and can't remember from where that there is a break in perid of 500 miles under 50. Don't know how true it is.

Forget what the stupid dealer tells you. They are mostly idiots that give bad information. Lots of threads on here about the dumb things they say. The break in recommendations are in the owners manual. Basically just says to vary the rpms for the first 500 miles and try to avoid long steady speeds.

Believe me I know. I think I've taught a few of them a thing or two myself.
