Are there really any variables to mess up?

Here is mine. The new clamp is because I disconnected the manifolds when I put my clutch in. I got mine centered back up, they should be able to get yours done correctly too.

If 4wheelparts can't get it right on the second try, should I just try a muffler shop?

That Y pipe is fairly rigid, it'll support the transmission so I don't think it's your manifolds or even that pipe that is the issue. I'd ask them to adjust it, feel free to use my pictures as a visual reference for them- 10 2dr with 130k, and see if they can get it right.

If not then I guess you could try a muffler shop. My thought on that is they'd replace from the clamp back a little ways with straight pipe to take some of the natural bend out of the pipe. It shouldn't have to be that way though.

I recently had mine apart for replacing the clutch and you can see that the system pretty much set itself back in place. I disconnected at the manifolds and there at the clamp. Connected the manifolds up first then attached that rear piece.....maybe they attached the rear piece then tried to bolt up your manifold??

Thanks, that's probably what will end up happening. 4wheelparts recommended I take it to a shop to have a new section of pipe put in, but again I feel this shouldn't be necessary. One factor I will note is that my factory skids are pushed up into portions of the exhaust piping near the transmission. They cited that as a likely issue. Maybe with the stress on it, it just didn't want to go back to its original location

A vertical push wouldn't cause your exhaust to be skewed horizontally though. I've bashed my skids up quite a bit and the exhaust sits fine. I've even got a large dent in the muffler but it's alright.

Have you tried giving that top mount a good push over? They should, but that doesn't mean they will. After manipulating the exhaust this past weekend, I don't see how they can say that's their best effort.

Keep us posted

They claim they tried to bend it over. I generally do my own work, but I'm a college student so when I'm at school away from the family garage I've been more trusting than I feel comfortable with in shops like this.

Next week I have a muffler shop that's going to try to adjust and cut out / weld in the bad section if it can't be realigned
