Stock JK TechBulletin board forum regarding issues with OE (original equipment) components of the Jeep JK Wrangler (Rubicon, Sahara, Unlimited and X) such as factory suspension parts, engine, transmission, body parts, interior fixtures and the on-board computer.
gosh, if you have a mom & pop muffler shop anywhere near by two $20's in their pocket might result in a nice, and better, fix. Kinda thinking that a new clamp, though a cheaper attempt, could be more frustrating and possibly fruitless effort.
Years ago I took a gamble on a $35 Thrush Welded muffler from Adavnced Auto. I read a lot of mixed things about that but I needed clearance so one way or another the factory pos had to go. I've had that muffler for years and it's been great for me.....but I have the 3.6L so my opinion is based on that engine. Muffler shop installed that for $40 for me and that included them bending a new pipe to go over the TB and making me a tip.
Does that clamp separate from the Muffler. Reason I'm asking is I'm having a hard time ordering this muffler and the clamp. Not sure if it's permanently attached or sold separate.
That clamp is attached but can be retrieved with a little twisting and tugging. Better still just go to a parts store and pick up a brand new one or a muffler shop. Get a band clamp not one of those u-bolt style clamps.
Provided Before and After Pictures of Parking Brake. Installed by Dealership. Parking brake cable wrong side of pipe and burned. Pay attention to the cable routing on the before and after pics. These parking cables are only available online maybe thru Ebay. Which means they have to do a Technical Directive and replace both left, right cables and the Parking lever. Don't comment about Dealership. I looked around and they we're my best option. This sucks! Manager going to be freaking! Old Muflfer leak New pipe New Pipe New Pipe New Pipe

Just as a side note, when installing rubber fuel cells in helicopters it is standard practice to use baby powder liberally on the outside surfaces of the cells to make easier to squeeze them into the tiny hole in the fuselage. Also used as a lubricant on float bags when folding up and storing.
