Why wouldn't the new remote start kit ( integrated into the key ) work for 2007. I wonder if anyone tried it to get it to work with 2007 model... I just really hate to have an extra fob on key chain.

Even though I and my parts guy said 1000 times it wont work for the 07' I believe that to be false now. With the instructions I got from my parts dude for the "08' Remote Start Kit" a internal email was included that said "For 2007 model vehicles, the factory remote start system contains a provision which does not allow the system to be operational until the vehicle is driven for 50 miles. This provision was eliminated on 2008 model year vehicles" SO it sounds like it will work, or at least it may be worth a try. I couldn't imagine the 07' and 08's being that different. I do know that my 08' came with a wire harness pre-wired for the hood pin switch. The remote start kit did however come with the wire harness in the box "incase" the harness wasn't pre-installed from the factory... maybe this is for the 07's??? Hopefully this info can be of a help for the 07's guys.

has anyone installed the kit for the 2007 in an 2008? I want the 2way remote, plus everything I've read it seems as though you dont need to bring it to the dealer to program the original kit to work.

Same question here...

So has anyone been able to confirm the kit with the integrated button in the key will work on the 07 with keyless entry \ factory alarm \ automatic trans?

I too would like a remote start in my 07 but don't want the little fobs that Ive seen only available for the 07s.

Also it seems there is a 3rd version which is a 2 way version, but I am not sure which type this is, ie with an integrated button in the key or separate fobs. I think its with the extra fobs as it has a built in led that changes color, although I haven't seen any pics, something I believe I read.

Thanks in advance...

So then the 2007 kit with the two fobs IS the 2 way version?... there is no 1 way version for the 07?

Default Some News From My Dealer...

So its seem according to the parts mgr at my dealer, the 07 will only take the separate fobs version, which is a 1 way communication. As everyone has read, the 08's and up will take the integrated button in a new key version. This is according to Chrysler who he investigated with. Now who knows if anyone "got it to work" in the 07's is my question.

As for a 2 way communication, he didn't say one existed for any model years. So not sure how I read in one thread (different forum) that a 2 way was installed. Just don't remember the model year or version... separate fob or integrated key.
