The JK isn't doing it yet but I've been wondering why my Liberty started doing this about 2 weeks ago. Makes sense now.

In my mustang if I quit when it stops I would be short 4 gallons! Yep that correct I can get 4 more gallons in the tank! Not true in the JK I can only get about a half a gallon or so more in if I top it off..and I do every time.

i have a 4dr rhd 2.8crd. its new only 2000 miles and every fuel pump i go to it cuts off and i have to fill up the tank at about 1/4 the speed the pump should. it takes forever and my hand is frozen by the time its full. the diesel just doesnt get into the tank fast enough the pipe into the tank is way to small. any fix would be nice im getting pissed of with it

I have had the over flow happen the past three times at different stations. NOT TOPPING OFF!! When the handles clicks off, gas comes pouring out.

Hmm....

Were running out of options.

Could it be the angle the Jeep is parked while getting fuel? (ie: Parked uphill or leaning to the left).

how about the rste of fuel transfer? maybe set the pump to deliver at half speed?

What about the fuel tank vent??? Where is this located, And could it be plugged up with mud???

Never a problem on my JK. I never Top Off.
Recently we had the exact problem on our 2005 Durango. Called the Service Department - they knew just what we were talking about. We've got a new filler neck on order, they are fixing it under warranty this week. I'll let you know how it goes.
Call your dealer.
