Grinding on cold start
I've had a problem when starting cold for the past few weeks.
when it gets to 10 or lower (F) and my jeep has been outside, when I start it, It makes a honk sound. like when you move a wooden chair over a tile floor kind of sound.
FROMP
just for about 1/4 second.
after that it's fine.
I was thinking it was the engine from not having oil on such cold days, but now I wonder if it's the defroster or something else. I'm gonna check it out. I'd be glad to find that it's not metal on metal and just a belt or something.

I make sure to shut off all accessories when I park it, so it's not the AC. Also I always make sure to allow the fuel pump to build up pressure before starting it. Fortunately here in this part of Colorado it hardly gets extremely cold (below 10°), if it did, an oil heater would definitely be in order.
