Default Hard top rear window

Can you leave the rear window open while driving? I know if it does come down it would hit the spare tire first. But would the gas shocks hold the window up driving down the highway?

Same here, I drive it like that on the road all the time. I usually don't take it off road liek that, but I think it'll be fine for fire roads or something like that.

Yes. In fact, they border on being too strong.
I read a post where someone broke his rear window just pulling it down.

On mine, the gas shocks seem stronger than they need to be.

For short, slow speed trips on sealed roads, no problem.

I had mine open (had fishing rods hanging out the back) on bumpy trails & beach while driving fairly fast for a hundred mi or so round trip, & find now the strut joints rattle & knock loudly when I drive with the window open, even on smooth surfaces; so keep the speed down & avoid bumps!

Default No problems

As the weather gets nicer in Phoenix around September, I start driving with my back glass in the up position, but that's only for a week or so and no problems. Then the top comes off through the winter months until May/June.

I've had no problems driving with the glass up. Have made several runs to Home Depot getting lumber and hang it out the back

I agree with others that the gas struts do seem a bit strong. Maybe the engineer thought it could be a "Jeep Spoiler"

Cheers.
