I had a problem with mine when I put on new tires. I thought that all of them were the same psi. I checked again and one tire was 3 psi lower than the rest. I aired it up and drove it about a mile and it went out.

I agree use a procal and kill it, although its a good idea for people not inclined to check their pressure, and air up and down. It gets in the way of us people who wheel.

i kind of liked it. it came in handy. i saw the dummy light go off while i was driving and i was able to pull over and put a plug in my tire before it went completly flat. it kept me from having to put the spare on while i was on the side of the highway.

I was never a fan of TPMS until I was riding on the highway with doors and top off (lots of wind noise) and I heard a faint weird sound, like my sub was wigging out or something. I pulled over to see what was going on and sure enough my passenger rear tire had a huge hole in it. Don't know what would have happened had I not pulled over because the vehicle really did not drive any differently. These were my after market wheels and had no TPMS. I'm now a fan! btw the tire was replaced for free under the $5 road hazard warranty I had.

Mine went off on the way to work (55miles each way), I'd picked up a two inch self tapper. Made it to work and patched the tire at our small truck shop. Glad I put them in my KM2s when I bought em cause it happened a second time with a nail.

I've had just one flat on the JK. Knew I had a low tire long before I ever noticed the idiot light.

But here's the kicker: I tow the Jeep behind a motor home. The Jeep's TPMS would be really useful while its being towed, but I can't figure out a way to receive the TPMS sensor signal in the RV.

You could probably tap into the light for the TPMS in the dash, then roll a wire all the way to your RV and hook it to some indicator (a light). I don't know if it's possible to intercept the RF signal from the sensors.

Not if there is a compatible TPMS receiver mounted at the back of the RV and powered by the RV. I've called a few aftermarket TPMS manufacturers but haven't found one who's receivers speak MOPAR.
