has the dash eaten your stuff yet?
OK, So I bought the foam insulation and while installing it I got second thoughts due to ventilation.
I went back to Home Depot and searched the ailses for something else to stick in the Rubicon to fix this issue.
What I found it the plastic corner pieces for hanging sheetrock.
I cut a piece to 53" and found that it didn't fit in any suitable way.

So I put it in a vise and clamped it down from 90 degrees down to about a 30-40 degrees angle.
If fits better and if I put a little pressure on it it sits down real nice and tight to the edge of the dshboard.

There is also a lip below the edge of the dash that I believe might hod the modification below the dash level. Sitck your fingers in and feel along the dash edge you can feel this nice little gap that might work. Anyone have the dash apart and know if that lip is suitable?
Plan on painting it to match the dash and then see if I can get it to sit betwwn the winshield lip and that lip below the dash.
Suggestions?

I like it thanks!
I've had my jeep for a few weeks and decided to spend the $1.39 and fill the gap with the insulation from HD. I wouldn't imagine it would cause any heat issues as there seems to be enough gaps elsewhere where heat can escape.

OK, So initially the plastic was sticking up and needed painting but it was acting like a nice goal keeper keeping things from getting behind the dash.

I went to HD and got some plastic paint

Pullin the plastic out I noticed that heat and gravity had worked in my favor
as the plastic had settled lower along the edge of the dash.
Painted it and put it back in place.

Not bad and allows for ventilation.

I was installing my new Dash Tray, took off the fastener clip, set it down for a second and the dash ate it
Anyone know where I can get more of these metal fastener clips? I tried the local parts store (Pep Boys), but they do not carry what I need.
Any help would be great, since now the Dash Tray is sitting up in the air on one side.

As soon as I lost (and recovered) a pen in the dash canyon, I bought and installed a piece of the smallest?? grey pipe foam into the gap. It doesn't look bad and seems to have no affect on ventilation. I don't think the gap serves any function.
To those of you that lost items to the dash gap...
Have you tried lowering the windshield? It seems like it isn't too tricky and you can get much better leverage on fishing out whatever you dropped much easier.

Drivers side. Took the dash apart, still nowhere to be found. I think it may be down with the ventillation ducting. ??
