I think there is a time/warp/void there and items get sucked into the cosmos just like socks that come up missing in the dryer

so my dash ate my GF cell phone today....
what a PITA to get it out. i think ill be doing the "$1.67" dash upgrade in the immediate future. i really think the engineers that designed it thought it would be worth a good laugh or two to produce the dash with that "defect" in it!!!!
either way, after a good 20 min i managed to get the phone out with minimal scratching of the cheap ass plastic

the pipe insulation is only .99 at Home Depot where I bought mine, after losing a part down the hole in their parking lot.

I did the pipe insulation trick too. It works great! 
I used the stuff for 3/4" copper that is not split. I cut it to length and tucked it in as I worked my way across the dash. A bit of advice, if the foam has yellow writing on it, wipe it off before tucking it in so it doesn't show or get yellow powder on the dash.
