I did mine without a vise-- just held it down on the workbench and did one post at a time. Much better now-- that was the one thing my wife hated about the new JK. SOLVED IT!

Why is it always the WIFE who complains about the headrest? Maybe the passenger side is more uncomfortable than the driver's. It's a complaint my girlfirend makes too.

Great idea. Simple and effective. I like it.

Because itis their duty to complain........and it is our duty to try and make them happy

Glad it worked out for everyone.

I figured out why my wife was comlaining about the headrest-- she pulls her hair back so we can enjoy the wind through the JK-- when she does this it is in all behind her head and getting nailed by the headrest every bump.......easy fix.

Because she is getting you back for all the non-complaining she was afraid to do before you got married. Now, there is a binding agreement, and you can't just walk away.
LMAO.

This is strange to me as I've driven round trip Dallas TX to Miami FL in both a Mitsubishi Mirage and an Eclipse, a Nissan Frontier and the JK twice. The JK was the best drive and I felt the best afterwards.

I don't know what the difference is, but my head doesn't come anywhere near the headrest.
I have looked over at the passengers, and their heads are not close to the headrest, either.

Could someone post a pic of a person whose head hits the headrest while in their normal driving position, so I can understand what the issue is?

I like to understand these things, rather than just think "WTF are they talking about?"
(And I don't even think "WTF" very often. In this case, they are the only words that work.)

the people that would hit their heads on it are the ones who adjust the seat to a 90 degree angle and look funny. With the street straight up and down, maybe it would stick out enough to hit it.
