Default Help me track down my clunk!

I have a clunk (it's not the steering shaft clunk) that's getting worse. I first noticed it only at freeway speeds, but now it's getting worse and I can feel it at all speeds. I think it's also affecting my handling. It felt a little dangerous today.

I hear it, and I feel it in the floorboards. It's definitely in the suspension or driveline. It's something heavy moving. The clunk isn't periodic, it's kind've random. It also happens just as much on smooth freeway as on rough roads.

Things I've tightened:
Swaybar endlinks
shock absorber bottom bolts. (I've never removed the top bolts and they "look" good.

I just went under there and found 3 things that move, but maybe they're supposed to. The tierod and draglink can both "rotate" a little. When I do it by hand, they make a clunking noise, but I don't think it would affect steering, so I think it's normal.

The one I'm wondering about is my edisco motor. I can rotate it by hand just a little bit. Maybe an 1/8 of an inch. And it looks like the rubber "stabilizer" (I'm not sure what to call it.) has some play in the hole where the metal rod goes through. I've got a picture:

Could this cause loose steering and a heavy clunk in the floorboards?

if it's an actual Clunk, look over all of your front end components and make sure there's no debris in there. i had clunky steering after turning and i took it to the dealer and they replaced the two front u joints and it was the front passenger u joint that was causing my clunk, but at highway speeds i wasn't turning so it didn't reallly affect me then, only when turning. if yours is at high speeds i'd go get it checked out right away, especially if it feels unsafe at points.

Does anyone know if there should be any play in the edisco motor? I feel like that rubber isolator should be tight to do its job, but it looks like the hole with the pin going through it is wallowed out.

I have noticed as well that when i undo 1 sway bar link I can move 1 side of the sway bar arm up and down at least a 1/4".

Anyone else with a rubicon can you undo 1 link and see if you have play or slop in your swaybar....
