maybe $400 installed at the dealer, but you can do it yourself for ~$75

Heres the info:
Cruise Control Stalk (4671929AB): $19.05
Horn switch (68003477AA): $51.15
Black Steering Wheel Cover (1GA31XDVAA): $5.50

Total: $75.70

and the How-To can be found here:

I did this myself in just over an hour after the dealer quoted me $700

In one of the write-ups for installing cruise control the mopar part numbers are listed. If you go to the dealership you can order the parts for around $75. When I went in the parts manager gave me a discount because I brought in the part numbers and he didn't have to look them up. No computer flash is necessary to activate the cruise.

It is not hard to do the install, just follow the directions in the write-up closely. Make sure to disconnect the battery so you don't get accidental airbag deployment and also make sure to remove the wiring from the clockspring so you don't yank it out and have to shell out bucks for a new one.

If you follow the directions closely you shouldn't have any problems at all. I've been enjoying my cruise for 5 or 6 months with no problems at all.

I did the install a couple of months ago too, saved me a bunch of money by buying the parts listed!

Just got my parts about 2 weeks ago from Wyckoff parts (sponsor here). Shipped to my door a little less than posted above. Just need a couple of screws from Home Depot and can install yourself.

Default Mopar Cruise Control

Got mine from Just for Jeeps, Mopar OEM kit, $225 for 2007 X.

Basically plug-n-play once you get the airbag off. Hints:
1. Get the posting on this site with the pics on how to pop the horn off and install it, the instructions that come with it are a one page comic strip with no words.
2. Match mark the steering column if it does not show clear match mark so you get the wheel back on exactly straight. If it's off center it will disable ESP/BAS stability control.
3. Make sure you keep the "clock spring" aligned where it was. This is the plastic disk behind the horn that it plugs into, with a nub at the bottom to align with wheel. Lots of ESP electronics behind it. I somehow got mine spun around 360 degrees when I put it back together. Cruise worked fine but ESP/BAS was hosed. Paid the dealer $500 to replace it.

Just loosen the center steering wheel bolt about half way out when pulling the steering wheel loose. This will prevent you from smacking yourself or pulling the wires loose when it comes loose. After it comes loose you can finish removing the center bolt to remove the wheel.

Use an Off-set screwdriver like a mini pry bar to open up the spring clips that hold the airbag assembly to the wheel.
