Plus, what good is a stock suspension with very little droop on the axles? I installed taller coils on a two door (for a friend) and the shocks had very little droop left in them at ride height. Might be good at the mall, but no bueno here on Colorado trails.

Longer OEM coils on a stock suspension doesn't change the up limit or down limit of the axle. To me that's a ride height change.
An increase in "ride height"= lift, be it a suspension or body. Said increase with "longer shocks, bump stops, etc," I would refer to as a suspension SYSTEM. Kinda like doing bench presses- might be good for SHOW, but does nothing for the GO!

Of course if you are Bjoern Werner then bench presses give you go

Safe to say, he does pulling movements (back, glutes, hammies) in a 2 to 1 ratio compared to pressing.

I just want to throw this out there in case it could help someone wanting shocks when replacing coils. I put on 19/59 coils and stock shocks for a while. I had very little down travel so I started measuring and researching shocks. I didn't want to add bumpstops and I didn't want my springs to fall out. The shocks that fit this setup more than any other were the old man emus. The ones before the nitro sport and not the long travels. The fronts had 9.25 travel which left me with 5 up and 4 down. The rears have 9.5 travel which put me at 5 up and 4.25 down travel. Makes for a nice ride that's practical and gives you back more than you had before the coil change. Hope this helps someone. Most of the other shocks that would add needed down travel also needed extended bumpstops. These worked for me. I will say I had to extend brakelines because after the shocks I couldn't get the tires off the ground when lifting from the frame.

I did 17/58's with 1.5-3' 5100's......I need 1/2" of bumpstop and I can completely droop the axle without unseating a coils. This isn't even 'full' droop yet, quite a difference in just a shock change.

^ That looks great

How does it ride?!

I've got 18/59's in the garage... Been going back and forth on whether or not to install them in place of my 14/15-55's. Those before/after photos are very helpful. I'm dead set on not going 'too' high for stock wheels and tires.

I just ordered a set of 18/59s to replace my 14/57s. Hoping for 1-2" to make room for some 295/70R17 Cooper STTs. Will post pics when done.
