Google "jeep wrangler transponder ignition key" and you will get many websites that sell them for a LOT less than dealer prices.

Default spare key

Installing some speakers ...I locked the Jeep w/ BOTH keys inside.......I had to fabricate a Jimmy w/ aluminum tray covers..( I should have kept it ...and started a Write-Up on Fabricating a Jimmy..)...after 10 minutes ...I was in....

I went to hardware store to cut another key....for my Wallet....testing the door cylinders....it worked ...but then I tried the Ignition....and the car turned on...Is this Normal..?...I thought the keys had a Chip....

The keys are chipped. I'd bring it back to the dealer, unless of course you don't care about the extra security, and like the cheaper key option.

It also depends where your chipped key was. If you install a after market starter you need to leave a chipped key somewhere close to the reader.

No need to disconnect the battery to keep from triggering the alarm when u open the door. Open hood, open fuse box, pull up (no need to remove) the iod fuse.

Probably addressed five times already - but have a dummy key cut. With electronic keys, it really isn't an issue to have a steel key sitting around the vehicle. I have mine somewhere in the engine compartment. Cost $3 or less, and that is cheap insurance vs a locksmith. Since the engine wont run with it anyway, I don't even know why I have it hidden.
