Default Low on oil

49000 on my jeep and for e first time ever I'm eating up oil. Have never Ben low untill now and I'm to quarts low with the last ol change Bering 4000 mies ago. Question is, do I replace the PVC first our do I need to look at something else? This eating up oil really bothers me.

That's a start. There are mixed results though because for some it seems to help and for others it did not. In addition some have switch to a heavier weight oil that has seem to slow the excessive oil consumption. This has been a known issue for the 3.8 engines. Your best bet is to periodically check your oil to make sure it doesn't run dry and ruin your engine. You should get the dealer involved and get it documented while you still have warranty. The dealer may say its normal for these engine to lose 1 quart ~ every 1-3k miles. Get an oil analysis done, it may take several tests to eventually convince the dealer/Chrysler to warrant a repair or replace your engine...Best of luck...

....Also do a search there are a lot of threads about this issue....

If it has to do with the PVC would the oil leak begin this fast? I have not noticed any loss up till now. So from not even noticing to almost 2qts in the past 4800 miles.

Yes, when the PCV Valve is shot it sucks oil into the motor causing carbon build up on the valves which in turn causes seeping by the valves etc... Also clogs the catalatyc converter. Be sure to replace with on OE from dealer, most aftermarket suck. Then I would also run a can of seafoam through with about half a tank of gas to clean up carbon,

Could try some heavier oil, like 10w-30,10w-40 or 15w-40
