Manually disable the passenger side airbag?
Only the early JK's have the Passenger Classification system to turn off the right airbag if a small child is in the right front seat, or the seat is empty.
I base this on the facts that only the '07 Owners Manual mentions it, and my '08 does not have the indicator light for it.

Could be, but there is no mention of it in the '08 and later manuals. Seems strange since there is such a big section about it in the '07 book.
I have an 09 2dr and there is no light anywhere to indicate that the passenger air bag can be disabled. I have also looked through the manual and there is no mention of it. Which sucks, every other vehicle I have ever heard of has it.
Mine has a sticker on the carpet under the front passenger seat that warns about recalibrating the sensor if the seat bolts are removed. Lovely.
I guess I need to get a service manual so I can look at the wires. I guess I could just unplug everything when needed but that's a pain. I have the seat airbags as well and I'd like that to stay enabled.

to add a note
just blatantly plugging and unplugging airbags might make them inflate
some cars mention to unplug neg battery terminal when working on sterring wheels, that way you dont spark a wire and have an airbag bash a screwdriver at your face.
