In my case I find the shifter just feels heavier through the gears when it's cold I don't find the rough shift becomes any more frequent.

I just hit 30000 miles and have a whining noise, but I can't figure it out. Could you explain it a bit better? I have put on hold doing any type of mod until I can get everything working correctly...but it just doesn't end.

Sounds like the exact problem I had. At 20,000 km I started experiencing a whining noise. Didn't even for a second think it was the transmission making the noise. The noise sounded like it was coming from the rear end and the tranny still shifted as good as it ever did. I took her into the dealer and they told me It was the transmission and that before they proceeded to do anything they let me know it wouldn't be under warranty. After a couple heated phone calls about my jeep with only 20,000 km on it not being covered they changed their minds and never bothered to diagnose the problem they just put a whole new assembly in.

It makes me miss my NV3550 in my TJ! That was a much better tranny IMO.

I like the nsg370 but am just paranoid that they are prone to premature failure after having broken one already. If I knew what caused the first one to go I would be at ease. I plan on keeping my jeep as long as I can afford to do so.

i notice for me, its very inconsistant, it could be cold or hot, snow or blacktop, off road or on, doesnt matter. Its either super smooth, or tearin into it. i have just under 10k on mine, have had it since sept, have not changed the fluid yet though.

I have almost like a high pitched squeal when accelerating, it stop as soon as i return to cruise. its not really loud but if you listen hard you can hear it. No clue what it is, im already on my second throw out bearing first one was replaced at 15,000 miles. other then that no real issues with the tranny.

Hard to say I would have to hear the sound for myself. Try and record a video of the sound and post it up.
