Default Paint Bubbling from rust forming

I tried searching to see if anyone else was having this problem, but didn't find much. I have an 07 2Dr. and the paint is starting to bubble from rust forming. I was wash my jeep at least once a week, cause I live in Nebraska where they throw salt and gravel all over the roads in the winter, and it's kept in a garage. Why is my paint doing this after not even 5 years? Anyone else having this problem? Whats more baffling is that where it's bubbling (door hinges) there are no chips pr cracks in the paint.

Its a very common problem. I believe you can bring it to the dealership and they will fix it if you have a warranty. Most people on here though take them off, sand them down and bedline them

I had that problem as well... 07 too. Brought it to the dealership and the fixed it right up. If you aren't still covered by the warranty be nice... They can apply to chrysler to do the work gratis.

My hinges are way bad. I figured it just came that way. Bought a used 07. Off to the dealership now. If they won't fix it I'll do it myself.

My 07 is the same way but the other thing I noticed the last time I washed it was a nice long rust stain coming from my driver side mirror that ran all the way down the door. Time for the relocation brackets so that I can stop the rust before it gets too bad.

Looks like it's time to bedline them. Not too hard to do & the black on yellow would make for a nice contrast.

I will have to do some considering here, I know I don't have any warranty left, I don't think, and my local dealer and I are not exactly on speaking term. Have had some serious issues with warranty work in the past.

that is your aluminum door hinges corroding under the paint film. This is caused by dissimilar metals ( aluminum hinge and steel outer door skin) in contact thru the the original thin primer coat, or moisture causing corrosion on the surface of the aluminum hinge, causing the paint film to bubble and lift. If your jeep doesn't have running boards or mudflaps, sand and gravel thrown up by the tires will chip and etch the hinges, since they stick out from the sides. This will allow moisture and corrosion to gain a foothold on the hinges.

Mine are the same way too. I plan on just living with them as is. If I have the extra cash at some point, I may swap them out for some stainless steel hinges and paint them black. I'll never have to worry about it again.
