I did mine over a year and it's doing just fine. I'm a weekend warrior thanks to work.

What kind of prep work do you need to do before spraying?

Looks great!! Did mine about 6 months ago and look good as new. Curious to see how they hold up during a rough New England winter.
There is minimal prep work. I just cleaned mine good with some acetone and went to town. Took about 4 cans to do all 5. Best mod I've done yet!!

Hi. Thank you. This is the first time for me. Glad I held on too the stock rims. It took about 3 hours total. I cleaned them very well using a soft brush and black magic liquid wax. Dried them down, played them on the garage floor. Some videos say to put index cards between the rim and rubber but that didn't work. So I used painters tape and taped it off. The YouTube video helps a lot show you how to spray. I'll find the link. I did approx 7 coats using a sweeping motion with the can(home depot). Having all 5 to do by the time I made it to the last rim in was able to start over back to the first rim. Bought 5 cans used 3.5-4. Next challenge Chicago winter!
