Couple of tips:
Don't overkill on the prep, it just wastes time. Just a good denatured alcohol or acetone will be enough to remove any grime. Sometimes soap & water is enough.
Spray it on THICK. This isn't paint where several light coats are normally applied to achieve a uniform look. If you spray too thin, it makes it that much harder to peel off if you ever want to completely remove it. I know this from experience. 2-3 heavy coats should be plenty.
Don't worry about index cards or tape -- just spray it on, including the sidewalls. It won't adhere to rubber, so it will flake off incredibly easy off the sidewalls but stay on the wheel.

How easy is it to get off? How long does it take to dry? Is there any residue left when you take it off? Finally, how long does it last? (At least how long does it retain good looks?)
I've got some minor clear coat degradation going on my Moabs around the center cap, I'm guessing from winter road salt. I'm thinking about doing this either in black, or a grey that looks close to AEV's argent. Anyone know a Plasti Dip grey that is close to argent?

It dries pretty quickly. I waited about 20 minutes between coats. It's easy for a beginner to put on. I suggest taking your wheels off the Jeep and put quarters in the lug holes. If you dip the holes, you can twist it off when putting your lugs back on. Most importantly, don't leave it on too long. Mine held up or almost 2 years, (2 hot Texas summers, and one winter with a lot of ice. Two trips to Colorado with a lot of off roading) but when it finally began to wear around the edges, it took a lot more work to get it off than it did to put it on.
