This is a poll for the JK 3.8L V6 and it's engine longevity. Engine problems so far?

124,000...some issues but nothing too serious
124,000 miles running 35s on stock 3.73 gears
Recently had a passenger side manifold leak so I took the opportunity to replace both manifolds with new headers which immediately shot me a code that my catalytic conv. is failing. So that will be replaced soon. I also have a straight pipe Dynomax Cat-back system with in-line muffler and a Banks CAI. At least when the cat is replaced I'll basically have a brand new exhaust system. The EGR valve also failed so I had that replaced (as was said in another post, having an auto makes for a very hard install). It also burns oil, as expected. Hoping to get another 125,000 out of it.
What do y'all think? Possible to get 250,000 miles out of this engine? I see a few people claim that they have over 350,000...is this for real??

Update to my last post in this thread
Our 2007 Sahara 2 door is up to about 56,000 miles now (yes, a cream puff!). I switched from 10W30 Mobil 1 to 10W30 dino oil a year or two ago and the oil consumption has dropped from less than 1,000 miles per quart to less than a quart in 3,000 miles (Whew!). Sounds fishy but it's true!
Coolant level used to drop very slowly and I couldn't identify any leak. Coolant loss gradually increased to the point that I diagnosed the problem as a leaking intake manifold. I added about half of a bottle of Bars Leaks Copper Seal about a week ago which solved that problem - at least temporarily.
Other than these two issues the old girl has been pretty reliable despite my earlier fears
I had nightmares about bad piston rings, PCV valve, etc., etc.
Not 3.8 engine related but I have also replaced the rear brake pads & rotors, added the MOPAR transmission cooler and an aux fan (for trailer towing), and just bought a set of Sahara takeoff tires & rims to replace the OEM's (MUCH cheaper than buying a new set of 18" Dueler A/T's - I also have a set of Rubi takeoffs for wheelin').

2008 76k on it, replaced EGR, PCV, water pump, clutch, front upper and lower ball joints, gas cap a few times, blower for heater, and it slurps oil. 1 quart per 1000 miles at least. Also transmission sucks, often enough it is hard to get into a few gears like 4th for example and pops out. I know there is a dealer notice but getting them to work it considering I have life time power train is hard as I am not giving them money.

2008 with ~58K miles on it. Pretty low miles for a 2008, but sometimes time is a factor as well as miles. All the preventative maintenance done per the manual, and except for oil changes (5w-40), usually a bit early. The only problem I'm remembering is a PCV valve that I suspected was sticking open intermittently (there was a code that led me to that conclusion, and the problem did not re-occur after replacing it).
However, there was one exception which was not a Jeep/Chrysler issue, a tuner glitch that mal-programmed the PCM and required a new PCM to get it back to normal. That still ticks me off: Even before it failed during programming, there wasn't any improvement, then craptacular customer service from Diablosport followed by a large bill from a dealer (because only a dealer has the computer tools to program a blank/new PCM). Needless to say, it will be a cold day in hell before I use a tuner again.

I feel like my tuner took the lag out of the pedal. But yes, I use it to log data from the jeep to help with code diagnosis.

My 08 has just under 100 thousand and so far just the 3.8 oil consumption. Not to bad yet about 1 1/2 quarts per 10 thousand mile oil change. I use Mobil one extended mile synthetic and am very happy with it. I do drive it pretty hard and I run it between 3000 and 4000 rpm's. I forgot about the exhaust manifolds both have been changed.
