+1 on the Ravelco. I put one in my Super Duty after it made the trip down to Mexico (ran out of gas and a sheriff found it 10 miles from the border).

Listen, I am the police, I can tell you this, if someone wants your vehicle they are going to get it. You can have all the GPS trackers, explosives, guns, tanks, cameras, dogs you name it. They will get it. As far as the GPS thing great for joy riders, not great for chop shoppers. I have people that will have your vehicle to the frame in under 10 minutes, so unless you wake up every 5 minutes throughout the night you'll never even know it was gone and you can come pick up your frame/gps tracker in the morning. Motor Vehicle Theft is not classified as a major crime unless the vehicle was used in a robbery, murder get away vehicle (that part was a joke) etc...so most places wouldn't check for prints or none of that other CSI BS. Your best bet is don't make yourself an easy target, don't leave the keys in it, don't leave your GPS out in the open, lock all your compartments (glove center console etc), get yourself a Tuffy Box, put locks on your wheels just be smart about it. Car thieves or even car burglars are not looking for anything difficult. they look for ease and speed. As far as brake locks steering wheel locks and so on those are garbage and are easily defeated. The only thing I ever seen that actually deters a lot is the

and they don't make one for our Jeeps. I work in Chicago's worse ghetto, your vehicle is not theft proof. The best is when they do rips with tow trucks prevent that. I would like to know how these Jeeps are getting stolen without the keys. I had a jiggler key that opened and started my Jeep, but it died after a few seconds. My understanding after 3 starts without the chip it locks up.

Thanks for the ideas I know that if they want your car and it's a target it will be taken I just want to know other ways to make it difficult to steal it.

I know it will be stolen if they really want it I just want deterrants

I do have a locking gas cap and it's a two door and so you can't really carry people in it.

I had my brothers friends install one of those motion sensors. I'm planning on hooking up the motion sensor alarm to a train horn once I get the funds that should deter those kids.

Not looking for lo jacks or whatever cause those are pointless.

My jeep is the first vehicle I've had in a LONG time without power locks and I am having the hardest time remembering to physically lock everydoor. Something I am still getting used to.
